Achilles Volunteer Job

Set-Up help (10am 3-4 people)

Registration table (opens at 11am)

Finish Chute folks to help move people on

Pull bib tabs after they finish. Times on this will be (1pm-till last guys comes in from 5K race, guessing 2-2:15pm)

Race results/time) 1pm-2:15pm

Coordinate Race Results (1) –job is to place bid tabs on board, add times, identify top 3 in each category)

Water table – hand out water to runners

Water table set up: (3-4) take gallon jugs, pour into cups 2/3 full at most. This should start at noon and be done before 1pm start. Hopefully set up refreshment table too: bagels, bananas.

Clean up: pick up empty water cups, help take down our registration table, help clean up around the capitol square – trash, etc. (starting after our race is done)

5 people

Someone to make large lap cards, need number 1,2,3 and 4 only. Should be large approx 14x20". Can be made of cardboard or light wood. Dark background with LARGE number in middle. These are used to count down how many laps till the finish. Start gun goes bang and number card reads 4, next lap 3, etc. Last lap we ring cow bell.

Runner lead outs for entire race (2) noon – end of race

Aides for helping people with disabilities like helping to get in and out of their hand cycles, getting wheelchairs, etc.

4-10 people

Volunteers to walk/run with participants

4-12 people

Volunteers at corners to direct and make sure people are going the correct way

8- 12 people

Volunteers to be along the route to cheer participants on
