OPENING SPEAKER: Carissa and Mary Ubersox will be sharing their story and how Shullsburg Lions have made a difference in Carissa's life.

LUNCH SPEAKER: Lori Gibson, Learning & Development Partner at Meriter Health Services. Lori Gibson is passionate about helping leaders at every level understand their impact, build their influence and achieve greater results. Lori has served clients and internal customers in industries as diverse as telecommunications, insurance, health care, professional services, utilities and transportation. She brings a practical, engaging, and collaborative approach to her work, based on 30 years of experience as a trainer, consultant, coach and organizational leader. In her current role as Learning & Development Partner for Meriter Health Services, she is responsible for supporting leaders by designing and delivering practical and engaging learning opportunities, providing coaching and facilitating teambuilding. She also collaborates with HR colleagues to provide performance management and onboarding programs that increase performance and provide positive experiences for staff.

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS:

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO BE A MORE INFORMED SECRETARY. Dick Schwedrsky, 2nd VDG, and others will be providing hands on help for secretaries and secretaries to be. The space is limited to 5-6 Lions in each session, so sign up early. Walk ins will be welcome if space permits.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO PROVIDE INDEPENDENCE. LEADER DOG-Puppy raiser and counselor, Deb Hader will explain what goes into training a Leader Dog. Future Leader Dogs will be on hand.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO KEEP ACTIVE. RIDING ON INSULIN Jesse Alswager, a Type 1 Diabetic, and his mom, Michelle, have teamed with Sean Busby, a professional snowboader, and Type 1 Diabetic to hold skiing and snowboard camps for T1D families. Camps are available in 4 countries, and have now added BMX and surf camps. Hear how being T1D does not stop the activity.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CARE. Dr Gil has recently retired from doing cataract surgeries, but CARE will continue in our district. CARE will now be two projects, Restoring Hope Transplant House and Combat Blindness International. Cindy Herbst will update us on RHTH. Dr. Mike Altaweel from CBI will explain the international aspect of the organization, plus the local free clinics they provide.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Eric Holthaus will provide information about the WLF Hearing Project. Also from WLF, we will hear about some of the craft activities that happen at camp and how we can help.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO PROVIDE A LEGACY. John Suby, of Suby Associates will show us how we can support the non-profits that we have an affinity towards. We will learn tools available through planned giving to our Lions Charities, both tools that are scheduled before our deaths as well as after death through wills and insurance. Also discussed will be tax implications and savings associated with these strategies.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO LEARN EYE CARE. Dr. Douglas Kelly, optometrist and Beloit Lion, will present information about eye care. Dr. Kelly with advanced eye care equipment does much more that writing prescriptions. Learn in plain language about eye disease.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO PROVIDE SIGHT. Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin has undergone many personnel changes in the past year. Meet some of the new members and hear more about LEBW.

LEO PROGRAM Judy Hatz will provide an interesting seminar for the Leos.
